Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Assistant 

Accountable to:  Monitoring, Evaluation & 

Research Officer & Manager 

Main purpose of job:  

∙Ensure the data Entry of all information related to CUT projects. 

∙Assist in all M&E duties related to fieldwork. 

GENERAL 

∙Report to Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Officer. 

∙Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation process of the field projects are in line 

with CUT’s work protocols. 

∙Data entry of all first-line sheets to second-line sheets for analysis. 

∙Assist in the design and implementation of new strategies for the improvement of 

the Monitoring and Evaluation system of CUT. 

MONITORING AND EVALUATION 

∙Ensure the data entry of all information related to the monitoring and evaluation of CUT field projects. 

∙Follow up on data sheets to be submitted by the outreach team. 

∙Set up and maintain a filing system for reports. 

∙Assist with data audits. 

∙Undertake initial analyses of reported data.  

∙Contribute to the timely production of information products such as an annual M&E report on projects/grants implemented. 

∙Compile information on monitoring and evaluation activities that includes reviewing workshop reports, participating in visit de-briefs, extracting information from quarterly reports, and reviewing and re-planning reports. 

∙Assist the M&E Officer in the process of Monitoring and Evaluation of field programs. 

∙Be ready to Support the CUT team as required in implementing any other programs. 

∙Assist in the development of appropriate training related to M&E. 

∙Ensure site visits on field to ensure proper data collection quality and overview of interventions. 

RESEARCH 

∙Conduct a comprehensive literature review for research. 

∙Assist the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Officer in organising interviews, focus group discussions and meetings with various stakeholders. 

∙Travel to field sites to collect and record data from priority populations as appropriate to the specific objective’s studies undertaken. 

∙Maintain accurate records of interviews safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary. 

∙Paper writing as well as presentation of the obtained results. 

∙Prepare progress reports for the organisation. 

∙Any other tasks related to the project. 

OTHERS 

∙Support and partake in all CUT general activities. 

∙Perform tasks as directed by the M&E Officer and the Manager. 

Profile and Qualifications 

∙Good HSC results and at least 1 years’ experience in a similar job (Minimum). 

∙Strong planning & organization skills. 

∙Outgoing, flexible, Passionate and a quick learner.  

∙Ability to work in team and possess good leadership skills. 

∙Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel). 

∙Fluent in English and French both speaking and writing 

∙Driving licence (Motorcycle and/or Private Car) will definitely be an advantage. 

∙Knowledge in HIV/AIDS, Drug use or Harm Reduction would be a definite advantage.
