Achievements in 2011

  • CUT participates in the 16th ICASA Conference (International Conference on Aids and STIs in Africa) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, making a presentation on the Community-based Harm Reduction programmes in Mauritius.
  • CUT, in collaboration with IDPC (International Drug Policy Consortium), organises a high level advocacy meeting with Policy Makers on Drug Policies. The spokesperson is Baroness Glenys Thornton a member of the UK House of Lords, and the former UK Minister for Health. HIV NGO PILS and the National Aids Secretariat (NAS) are partners in the event.
  • CUT through the coordinator, also has the opportunity of attending two training sessions at the international level, including a training on advocacy by ELSA platform in Paris, as well as another one called  « Harm Reduction Capacity Building for Sub-Saharan Africa » in Melbourne organized by the Burnet Instituteand the Nossal Institute for Global Health.
  • CUT organizes the 2nd Conference on Harm Reduction in Mauritius: “Towards a Client-centered approach”, after which a Conference report and an advocacy document is published and disseminated.
